The black intertwined fragments, one on top of each other, create a dark world, illuminated by red, like a just bloomed flower, the power of emotions. The artist creates these bas-reliefs with recycled materials to give new life and new meanings to abandoned items. In this work he used wooden planks cut into triangles of various sizes, glued on a wooden base, on 3 layers and then painted. Paolo Contin has a long artistic career. He studied in the world of design, and since 1980 he has been working in the field of fashion and art. In 1999 he started exhibiting his works; in 2002 he held his first solo exhibition in Padua, followed by many exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including Copenhagen, Munich, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.
