Part of a porcelain table service, Doccia, Ginori manufacture, circa 1810

[ translate ]

from the "Service of Views"; each piece, bordered in blue, is painted in polychrome on a white background to depict views of Italian cities and monuments, some specified on the reverse. It consists of 24 pieces including 9 plates, 4 four-lobed trays, 3 circular trays, 4 oval trays, 4 coolers, one of which is for glasses (restorations).Influenced by the Empire style, as demonstrated by the use of feral feet in the refreshments, this service is part of the so-called "view service" probably identifiable with the "miniature view service with blue band", present in Ginori's production lists between 1810 and 1825. Various painters contributed to the creation of the painted views, present on each of the pieces, the most important of which was Ferdinando Ammannati, who arrived in Doccia in 1808 following the closure of the Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea and collaborated with the factory until 1823.

ordinativi di corte, Pisa, 2001, sch. 113-114, pp. 170-172
