2nd-1st century AD. A hollow-formed ceramic figurine depicting the goddess Astarte standing facing wearing a knee-length robe hanging in swags, enhanced by diagonal painted stripes; original paint pigment remaining; mounted on a custom-made stand. 801 grams total, 28cm including stand (11"). From an important London family collection formed 1960-1990s.
