A very fine Parthian terracotta medallion with the depiction of a female bust. Anatomical details are delicately rendered, she is wearing a headpiece and displays a light, enigmatic smile. A frame of decoration runs along the rim and the reverse is flat and unmodeled. The piece comes with an original note from W. G. Professor Lambert. Parthia is the historical region located in north-eastern Iran.
