Parthian Twisted Silver-Copper Snake Bracelets (2)

Ancient Near East, Persia, Parthian Empire, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. A stunning pair of silver and copper alloy bracelets comprised of thick, twisted wires that create serpentine bodies. Both bracelets have an opening gap, the terminal tips are flattened and incised with eyes, forming snake heads! The surfaces of both have been enveloped in a thick green patina from over the ages. Both are approximately the same size. Size: 2.3" Diameter x 0.25" W (5.8 cm x 0.6 cm); silver quality bracelet with both heads intact: 23.5% to 24%; silver quality bracelet missing terminal tip: 35% to 40%; total weight: 48.9 grams

Condition Report: Loss to terminal tip on one bracelet. Age expected wear and chips to surface layers. Stable hairline fissures across both bracelets, and we do not recommend wearing either due to these potential weak points. Heavy patina and mineral deposits throughout both.
