Introduction:
This 2494J Patek Philippe Calatrava watch features a 33 mm in diameter case, with a silver white dial, and sub second hand. The watch comes with a 12"-400 caliber movement. #723752 and case #514051. Also a generic alligator strap and buckle.
Date & Paperwork:
The watch was made in 1954 and sold in 1955, confirmed with an extract from the archives confirming its date of manufacture and further sale. Additionally, the watch comes with a one year movement guarantee.
Essay:
This reference was launched in 1950 and continued until 1962. The case was made by the Geneva master case maker George Croisier, identified with a key number 5. There are three movements used in the reference: 1st series caliber 12 120 starting in 1950, 2nd series caliber 12 400 starting in 1951, 3rd series caliber 27 AM 400 starting in 1960.
