Dial: The crisp white enamel Roman dial with outer minute track and subsidiary dial at six o' clock, signed Spaulding & Co Chicago. The original slim blued steel spade hands with matching seconds hand.
Case: The 18ct rose gold half hunter case with engraved blued enamel Roman Numerals to the front cover. The back cover has a family crest with a Latin inscription Per Ardua Surgo meaning Through Adversities I Rise. The inner cover is plain. All cases are fully Swiss Hallmarked, signed Pate Philippe and numbered.
Movement: The beautiful nickel finished A quality movement with keyless lever micrometer regulation compensated balance and woolfs tooth winding, fully jewelled and double signed on the movement.
Spaulding and Company were a prestigious upmarket jeweller which had stores in Chicago and New York. It was a family run business which supplied exclusive Patek Philippe watches. This watch comes with an Extract of Archives stating that the watch was sold in March 1888.
