Inspired by the reference 2441 'Eiffel Tower', the Pagoda model was launched by Patek Philippe in 1997 to commemorate the inauguration of their new watchmaking facility at Plan-les-Ouates near Geneva. The Pagoda reference 5500 was made in a limited edition of 1100 examples in 18K yellow gold, 500 pieces in 18K rose gold, 250 in 18K white gold and 150 in PT950 platinum. The destruction of the tools and dies used in the manufacture ensures that this model can no longer be produced.
