The example here offered is part of the reference 1593 also called by Italian collectors “Tegola” for its particular shape. It was launched in 1944 and remained in production for around 20 years, becoming one of Patek Philippe’s best designs ever given to a rectangular wristwatch. The two-body flared case in 18k yellow gold of the present lot has been preserved in crisp original condition and is completed by the iconic sloping glass. This very watch is also distinguished by the silvered dial with yellow-gold dart indexes and Arabic numerals. With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with in 1953 and its subsequent sale on 30th September 1953.
