The metal composition of the piece does show patina and signs of wear as can be seen in the photos provided but we love it as is and the character this piece retains. The light does swivel 360 degrees as well as angles up and down without issue and both lights and switch function exactly as they should. This fascinating lamp is highly functional structurally sound and ready for decades more of use.
