Patti Davis – daughter of President Reagan
PATTI DAVIS SIGNED BLACK AND WHITE, INSCRIBED "TO FAITH, BEST WISHES" A black and white promotional portrait of Patti Davis, actress, author, and daughter of President Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan, signed and inscribed in purple ink at upper left: "To Faith / Best Wishes /, Patti Davis." The is a professional head and shoulders portrait, approximately 8 × 10 inches, depicting Davis in a turtleneck sweater with her characteristic dark hair. Patti Davis, born Patricia Ann Reagan, occupied an unusually complicated position in the public life of the Reagan years: the President's eldest daughter, she was publicly estranged from her parents through much of the 1980s over political and personal differences, publishing a memoir and appearing in Playboy during a period of open family conflict before a reconciliation in the early 1990s as her father's Alzheimer's diagnosis became known. Her signature carries the peculiar weight of the Reagan family dynamic, a White House era figure whose relationship to the presidency was defined as much by its tensions as its ties.
