Condition Report:
The condition of this valet de nuit is consistent with its age and use.
The oak presents with wear, some discoloration, as well as tiny chips and losses, the more important ones located on the base, along with some scattered scratches and tiny dents, consistent with age and normal use and not affecting the overall aesthetics of the piece.
The leather presents with wear, along with losses in places, the more visible ones located on the edges of the hanger and the shelf, as well as abrasions, scattered tiny cracks and a few black stains in places.
The brass presents with light oxidation, along with minute vert-de-gris stains, inherent to the aging process of the material, as well as scattered wear and scratches.
Close inspection reveals that one rod is slightly distorted and we also observe a crack through the back brass rod on the base.
One of the brass sphere at the end of the handles has been replaced at a later stage.
