Paul Hermans (Hasselt, 22 August 1898 – Hasselt, 20 March 1972) was a Belgian-Limburg painter. Left his province in 1925 and made a living out of art. In the period 1930-35, he came under the influence of the Flemish expressionists (Saverys, Permeke, De Smet) . In the period 1932-34, he took part in exhibitions in Venice, Copenhagen and in his own country Antwerp, Hasselt, Verviers and Brussels. Kunstkring Pro Arte organised an exhibition in 1946 with works by Wellens, Jac Douven, Maclot, Wallaert, Van Doren and also Paul Hermans. That same year, from 24 December 1946 to 2 January 1947, there was an exhibition "Paul Hermans" in the Hooghuis in Hasselt. Received the Provincial Prize for Fine Arts at the beginning of 1972. Depicted work is 'Passage neigeux'. Oil on canvas 70 x 35 cm. Signed by hand.
