Paul Horiuchi (1906-1999 Washington) ''View From My Home'' 1955 Oil on Masonite 24''x30'' Image. A rare early northwest scene painted from the artist's backyard of his first home. Comes with an explanation from Paul Horiuchi Jr., ''This painting, as the title reveals, was painted from Horiuchi's home on 34th Ave. The I-90 bridge pictured here is the original bridge, before it sank and was rebuilt. Built into the hillside of Lake Washington, the home was difficult to get to. Very steep steps lined the entrance to the home, and Horiuchi frequently had to carry his paintings up and down these stairs. Horiuchi and his family lived here for 5-6 years before moving to the Rainier Beach area''. Signed and dated l.r. Original gilt carved framing 30''x36''.
