Paul McCobb for Calvin Irwin Collection two-part brass and mahogany open shelf room divider, American, 1952. Open upper shelving unit, model C7905, with mahogany shelves and four drawers at lower left, all set in a square tubular brass frame. Low base/cocktail table, model C9305, with mahogany top, two drawers and lower shelf, set in a square tubular brass frame. Calvin/Paul McCobb metal tag present in the interior of the upper drawer. Shelving unit is 16.5 x 60 x 19 inches, low base/cocktail table is 60 x 59.5 x 13 inches.
Condition Report: The brass is discolored in some areas, with heavy oxidation particularly at the right side. The mahogany has been sun bleached, as evidenced by a dark strip of the original stain color where the shelving unit rests atop the low base/cocktail table. The sun bleaching is consistent in all exposed areas, and appears as a pleasing blonde mahogany. Some scratches, abrasions, and accretions to wood.
