Rare engraving by Paulus Pontius taken from a painting by Van Dyck. Engraving dating between 1624 and 1658.
Dimensions: 44 x 33. 7 cm.

Exemplary in a contemporary edition on laid paper in excellent conservation conditions with the central horizontal fold reinforced with Japanese veil on the back of the print.

The coronation of Saint Rosalia; the saint kneeling on the left, before the Virgin and Child on a pedestal, the Child placing a wreath of flowers on her head, Saints Peter and Paul on either side, a classical building beyond; third state with altered inscription.

Contents of the inscription: Letter in the lower margin: "S. Rosalia . . . / . . . Ihesv Antverpiæ LMDCQ" and "Antonius van Dyck Inv. " and "Paulus Pontius sculp. ".
