Pendant - 14 kt. Yellow gold

A beautiful yellow gold Huguenots,
Symbolic interpretation
The Huguenot Cross consists of a Maltese Cross, the arms of which can be interconnected by a circular motif. The circle is supposed to represent the crown of thorns of Jesus. According to others, the Greek cross (with four equal arms) and glory cross, in contrast to the Catholic Latin cross (with the lower arm longer) , is "martyr's cross" depicting a gallows. Between the arms are four hearts, the symbol of love that is meant to remind believers of the commandment "Love one another" (John XIII: 34) . The hearts could also represent love, faithfulness, and an open heart toward God.

Often the circle consists of four lilies, which represent cleanliness and sincerity. The ends of the cross contain eight pearls. These symbolize the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5: 3-10. The twelve points in the cross in total symbolize The Twelve Articles of Faith.

At the bottom hangs a dove, which symbolizes the Holy Spirit descending from heaven to earth. The dove could also represent freedom and peace, and the Maltese Cross – a cross originally worn by knights – may indicate battle or victory. Sometimes there is not a dove on the cross but a tear, which represents the suffering of the Huguenots.
