Pendant Yellow gold

Yellow gold pendant in the shape of a scarab set with blue enamel. The back of the pendant features an image of a scarab.

The scarab was considered a sacred animal in Egyptian mythology. Chepri was the god of the rising sun, who, as it were, created a new sun every day. The dung balls, which are made and rolled by these beetles, were also associated with the sun because of their shape, and therefore with Chepri.
