Ca. 67 × 49 × 43mm, case probably of iron and bronze, gilt lid with silver Renaissance mounts, centre part probably originally covered with leather or stingray skin, hinged on both sides, on one side under the lid is the silver dial with enamelled numeral ring, Roman numerals, gilt hands, early movement, verge escapement, stackfreed, hog's bristle regulation, foliot, plate monogrammed I. V.K (attributed to Jacob van Kress), on the opposite side under the lid is a sundial with silver numeral ring, intact, rarity. Another Renaissance pendant watch with this signature is illustrated in: Reinhard Meis "Von der Halsuhr zum Tourbillon", page.74, fig.27-28". This watch matches the present watch in many details of the movement and dial. In our opinion, this watch is predominantly in its original condition.
