The present drawing can be attributed stylistically to an artist from the circle of Perino del Vaga c. 1530. The figure’s pose may have been inspired by the painting "Pallas and the Centaur " by Sandro Botticello (c. 1480-1485) in the Uffizi, Florence (Inv. 1912 Nr. 29)
