Autumn French School, late 19th century circle of Claude Monet (French 1840-1926) oil painting on canvas, unframed 31 x 24 inches Paris canvas makers stamp verso condition: very good and original condition; has been lightly cleaned. The edges and corners are a little worn and there is a small nail size hole to the upper centre of the canvas which would have been made by the artist for hanging purposes. Provenance: from a private collection in the South of France. A very beautiful original late 19th century French Impressionist oil painting on canvas. The work depicts this late autumnal river landscape, with overhanging golden brown leaves. They create a wonderful reflection on the waters whilst wispy trees can be seen outlined in the distance. The work is unsigned but clearly by an artist closely connected with the Impressionist movement of the period and certainly one inspired by Claude Monet (1840-1926).
