Planispheric astrolabe in hammered and engraved brass, comprising a mother, a spider, four eardrums, as well as a nail and the horse hanging from a pompom (Alidade missing).
The mother is surmounted by a poly-lobed throne decorated with an inscription in Naskh script, part of a verse from the Qur'an (16:12) surrounded by a scroll of vegetal stem. The limb is divided into 360 degrees, divided into 5° intervals, subdivided for every 1°, with the graduation in abjad. The outer edge is engraved with a thin crown of leaves. The inside of the mother is engraved with concentric radiating lines containing the names of Iranian cities, with an inscription in the centre giving the name of the sponsor and the date 1112 AH/1700-01, probably apocryphal.
