Persian Safavid / Afsharid Dynasty Silver Bowls (pr)

Central Asia, Persian Empire, Iran, Safavid to Afsharid dynasty, ca. 16th to 18th century CE. A pair of the most beautiful and relatively petite, high-quality silver (94.92% to 95%) bowls! Each with incredible incised detailing of floral and geometric forms; a band of meandering arabesques, and overall similar and complimentary decorations. The bowls rest on rounded bases that are free of ornamentation; the foliate design begins at the midsection. The lips feature small ridges encircling the top, and the intricate patterns adorn the entire interior of the basins. A light patina envelops the surface! Size: 4.5" W x 1.625" H (11.4 cm x 4.1 cm); quality of silver: 94.92% to 95%; total weight of both: 265.3 grams
