A new rug made of wool and silk. The carpet has a beige field decorated with vegetal scrolls and flowers arranged around a central motif in the form of a flower. The field also has the reserved areas towards the corners in a light beige colour. The border is made up of five bands, four of which are very thin, and a larger one in the centre, with floral, vegetal and geometric motifs.
Persian rugs have a great popularity and reputation due to their technical and ornamental quality. Those of greatest value are made of wool and silk, and their ornamentation is notable for the use of a medallion in the central area, which is accompanied by other vegetal elements.
