This carpet features a black field decorated with simplified floral and vegetal elements arranged in a symmetrical pattern. The field has reserved areas in the corners that make it easier to understand the main motif. The border, in which red dominates as the basic colour, is divided into three bands, a large central band and two smaller ones that delimit the main band.
Persian rugs are known for their great popularity and reputation due to their technical and ornamental quality. Those of greatest value are made of wool and silk, and their ornamentation is notable for the use of a medallion in the central area, which is accompanied by other elements of a vegetal character.
