Please note the colours and shades in the online catalogue illustration may vary depending on screen settings.
While this mural-sized unique photograph has not been examined out of its frame, it appears to be in generally excellent condition. As is common with Peter Beard's photographs as a result of his working process, there are stray ink and paint deposits, handling creases, deposits of retouching, and hairline surface scratches. The sheet is rippled overall and there few tiny tears at the margin edges.
The annotations on the image read: 'Wami Hill and Kapiti Plains / scene of Teddy Roosevelt's 1909 lion hunt with Philip Percival (of Blixen-Percival Safari) + R. J. Cunninghame [having arrived on the Lunatic Line (Mombosa Railroad) with F. C. Selous]. This scene 1964 / Peter Beard with Percival for The End of the Game, P. O. Box 4191 Nairobi'.
The annotation in the margin reads '(Embellished at the Hog Ranch art Dept.)'.
