This unique work is in generally excellent condition. As is typical of the artist's working process, stray paint deposits are visible on the image. When examined in raking light, the following are visible: tiny creases in the upper right corner of the image; a tiny impression in the upper center; and scattered hairline scratches. There is minor wear to the margin corners.

The print is tipped to a backing board so that the reverse could not be fully examined, but the photographer's stamp and signature are partially visible.

The annotations in the photographer's hand on the image read as follows: 'Abdare [sic] Forest'; and '@Box 22 Nyeri Kenya'.

The annotation in the margin by the Hog Ranch Art Department reads 'Embellished at the hog ranch art dept. by a world artist E. Mwangi Kuria'.
