Provenance:
The Tryon Gallery Ltd, 41/42 Dover Street, London, where presumably acquired by Sir William Pigott-Brown, 3rd Bt. (1941–2020) by whom bequeathed to the present owner

Footnote:

Sir William Pigott-Brown was a champion amateur jockey, who rode 74 winners in his horse racing career. His biggest win was at Cheltenham in 1961, winning the National Hunt Chase on Superfine. 'Foxhunters' in the title of the present work refers to one of Cheltenham Festival's oldest races for amateur riders, formerly called the St James's Place Foxhunters' Chase, in which Pigott-Brown may have at some point competed himself.
