Peter Foldes, British/Hungarian 1924-1977 - Untitled seated nude, 1946; gouache on paper, signed and dated lower right 'Peter Foldes 46', 60.6 x 42.7 cm (unframed) (ARR) Provenance: Gimpel Fils, London; private collection Note: Peter Foldes was an animated film maker and artist, originally from Hungary, known particularly for ‘A Short Vision’ which is now viewed as one of the most influential British animated films ever made. He exhibited at the famous Hanover Gallery in 1953 and a portrait by the artist is in the collection of the Courtauld Gallery in London.
