Peter Robert Keil (German, born 1942), acrylic on canvas abstract figural painting depicting two large stylized faces and figures emerging from dense, gestural strokes in tones of black, red, magenta, cobalt blue, yellow, green and white against an ochre ground. Executed in a Neo-Expressionist style with thick, energetic brushwork and impasto. Signed lower right "Peter Keil." Verso shows paint bleed-through from the front. Canvas mounted on a wood stretcher with a center crossbar. Work Size: 58.5 x 60.5 in.

Condition: Good to fair overall vintage condition with scattered craquelure and areas of paint flaking. The canvas exhibits typical storage and handling wear along the edges and corners.
