The outstanding and decorative example displays almost as a footstool or end table with a height of 6 inches (15 cm) and a contoured polished surface. At first glance, the exterior, bark-like rind full of reddish coloration defines the fossil as Petrified Wood, but it is the smooth top with a massive central crystalline cavity surrounded by wood-looking, brown patterns that really make this offering so significant and special. A glorious section of log, to be sure, pieces of this size, quality, and visual appeal are few and far between. This is simply a major statement Petrified Wood specimen.
