Petrified Oak Slab Quercus Miocene Juntura Formation Stinkingwater Mountain, Harney County, Oregon, USA Petrified Oak Wood, out of the world-renowned Stinkingwater Mountain locality in Oregon, is one of the most collectible of all varieties. This fine and large example of Quercus dating to the Miocene measures a sizable 23 inches (59 cm) at maximum diameter and features a beautiful patterning, a reflective polish, and the classic appearance of "Stinkingwater" material. Dynamic and undulating linear rings dominate the wonderful and naturally artistic surface of this museum-quality specimen. A slender natural cavity adds further intrigue to this already visually stunning offering of this White Oak. A small section of the rind is incomplete, and a tiny piece looks to have been reattached to the slab, but overall, this is a massive and truly spectacular Petrified Wood.
