Purchased at Sotheby’s New York, Lot 140, October, 1997. Painting was previously misidentified as a work from Pieter Hardine and sold as such at auction, with a later addendum from Sotheby's, correctly identified by Fred Meijer of the Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Docmentatie (RKD, Netherlands Institute for Art History). Copy of receipt and addendum provided. Condition: Craquelure, relined, minor abrasions.
