"Philippe Horloger Fab Palais Royal 66-67", Scarce Early Stem Wind Demi-Hunter, circa 1850 Case: 43 mm, gilt German silver, three body, hinged front demi-hunter cover with Roman numerals, repousse finished snap back with raise letter "L" and unique rayx scallop pattern Dial: engraved silver disc with Roman numerals, swirl pattern at center, signed "Philippe Horloger Fab Palais Royal 66-67" , gold spade and leaf hands Movement: French factory gilt movement with cylinder escapement, stem-winding, setting with key from a center wheel arbor, three-arm un-cut balance This unique "souvenir" timepiece is a tribute to Jean Adrien Philippe who in 1845 was awarded patent number 1317 for his invention of the first keyless winding system. Jean Adrien Philippe received the gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris for the revolutionary system. The timepiece is accompanied by a fitted wooden display box
