This piece can be presumably be dated to the last third of the 17th century. It is a mirrored copy of a work by Philips Wouwerman from around 1660/1665, painted after the engraving of Wouwerman's work by Dancker Dankert, an engraver active in Amsterdam until 1666 (Hollstein 48). The monogram "(.)W" to the lower right is thought to be a later addition.
