Phoenician Glazed Ceramic Vessel

A glazed ceramic vessel with D-section wall, broad neck, two integral pierced handles and a discoid foot, decorated in a blue and cream glaze composed of alternating panels of lozenges and dots flanking a vertical wavy line around the body, band of herringbone around the shoulder, dots above. 326 grams, 14.5cm (5 3/4"). From an important North West London collection; acquired in the late 1980s-early 1990s; this lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by AIAD certificate number no.10963-179810.
