Phoenician Necklace w/ 34 Glass Beads

Classical World, Eastern Mediterranean, Phoenician, ca. mid 1st century BCE. Comprised of 34 ancient Phoenician glass beads including 4 tubular core-formed white and aubergine beads, 5 shell-shaped, core formed beads of the same beautiful aubergine and white color scheme, 17 round beads with a black-on-white polka dot motif, 1 oblong green bead, 1 rounded green bead with circular impressions, 1 ridged round black bead, 1 cube-shaped white bead adorned by concentric circles on each face, 3 rounded black and white beads with eye motifs, and a large ovoid, core-formed central pendant in that stunning aubergine and white color palette. A stunning piece of wearable art comprised of a lovely ensemble of Phoenician glass beads. Size: 16" L (40.6 cm); central pendant bead measures 1" L (2.5 cm)

Condition Report: Longest tubular, core-formed bead is broken in two pieces. Chips to two of the larger round beads with eye motifs. Tiny nicks to ends of central pendant bead. Other beads show expected age wear, but are generally very good. Gold-toned clasp and cord are modern, but all beads are ancient. Strung in modern times.
