Phoenician Pottery jug, 24 x 20 cm

Phoenician terracotta jug, mushroom mouth type, with an exvasate rim, decorated with dark-coloured motifs. It has an oval body with a low base. Its high, pronounced neck has a cylindrical shape with a division at the bottom from which a single small circular handle starts. The figurative and geometric decoration is located on the body of the jug. The mushroom-mouth jug is undoubtedly one of the most characteristic vessels of Phoenician ceramics.
