Photo Cards of Kaiser Wilhelm Journey to Palestine 1898
Two full sets of 6 cards each (12 cards in total) with photos of Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany in his journey to Palestine in 1898. The cards were distributed inside German chocolate bars made by the Stollwerck company. Each card depict a photo from the Kaiser’s journey together with a description in German, and a more detailed description on the reverse side. Six of the cards depict the visit in Jerusalem, and the rest depict additional moments from the visit, including: docking at the Haifa port, Bethlehem, Damascus and Constantinople.
During the Journey, held in fall 1898, the Kaiser visited the Ottoman empire, and the cities Constantinople, Haifa, Jaffa, Jerusalem Damascus and Beirut.
Approximately 5X9 cm. Good condition, stains, creases, wear.
