Original aquatint etching, three engraved plates, 1987, on refined Rives Moulin du Gué paper, 56 x 76, edition of only 120 copies. 1987, etching printed with press, 3 plates. Embossed stamp of the publisher and certificate of authenticity in accordance with the law. One of the very few engravings published in colour and in full sheet on the general catalogue of chalcographs, and the oval, for the master it’s the utmost formal expression of his art. In 1947 he was one of those who signed the Gruppo Forma 1 manifesto, together with Pietro Consagra, Achille Perilli, Antonio Sanfilippo, Giulio Turcato and Carla Accardi. Always in 1947 he won a scholarship of the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris, where he lived for a year. In 1950 he founded the bookshop-gallery “L’age d’Or” (“The Golden Age”) . In 1952 and 1953 he contributed to the magazine “Arti visive”, and almost two years later he published “La fantasia dell’arte nella vita moderna”, the first book written in Italy dedicated to abstract art. After a long series of training trips (Prague, Paris, United States) in 1960 he became a professor of art at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia) .
