Excellent 1989 screen by Piero Fornasetti with bookcase decoration touched up by hand. Experts know the meaning of 1989 in the history of Fornasetti, the artist died in 1988 leaving a certain amount of objects on which the son (who continued his father's business affairs) affixed the year 1989. This is one of two screens sold in 1989. The bookcase decoration is one of the most famous with vibrant colour touched up by hand according to the classic Fornasetti technique. It is in good condition, there is no damage of any kind except for small signs of age and decorative use. It weighs about 22 kg and the dimensions are 140 x 140 cm. Decoration only on one side. In my photographs some details concern the brass material (wheels and hinges) which belong to the middle period of Fornasetti's production and are not recent, attesting to the fact that the object has never been restored or tampered with.
