Pierre Ambrogiani comes from a modest family, settled in the old working-class district of Marseille. In 1936, helped by his friends André Malraux and Louis Aragon, it became one of the creators of the first Maison de culture of the province with his friends, the Marseille painters Antoine Serra, Louis Toncini, François Diana. "A very popular and colourful character of Marseille", Pierre Ambrogiani is a friend of Marcel Pagnol and Jean Giono. His workshop is located Cours Estienne d'Orves, near the Old Port. He travels the countryside with his car, he uses it as his studio, painting on the motif. He moved into a workshop at the Quai Rive Neuve in Marseille in 1943.
