The subject depicts Berthe Morisot sticking a hat to her daughter Julie Manet with a pin. Realized in 1894, this etching derives from previous studies, carried out between 1887 and 1888, when Renoir was a frequent visitor to the Manet family. This is probably the reworking of a lost pictorial work.
Condition Report: Puntasecca firmata; mm. 119 x 79. Tiratura postuma. Bellissima prova, secondo stato su due. Perfetto stato di conservazione, ampi margini.
Il soggetto ritrae Berthe Morisot che attacca con una spilla un cappello alla figlia Julie Manet. Realizzata nel 1894, questa acquaforte deriva da precedenti studi, effettuati tra il 1887 e il 1888, quando Renoir frequentava assiduamente la famiglia Manet. Probabilmente si tratta della rielaborazione di un’opera pittorica andata perduta.
