Pierre Bonnard
1868 - 1947
Jeune Fille dans la rue

signé Bonnard (en bas à droite)
huile sur toile
32,5 x 28 cm; 12¾ x 11 in.
Peint vers 1898.

Condition Report:
Canvas is lined. There are a few very minor fine and non-visually distracting lines of craquelure visible upon very close inspection in the thicker impastos, most notably in the hat of the figure. Examination under UV light reveals small strokes of cosmetic inpainting around the extreme perimeter of the composition, likely due to abrasion from a prior frame. The old varnish fluoresces unevenly. The pigment is fresh and strong. This work is in overall good condition.

Provenance:
Private collection, Paris (acquired circa 1900)

Private collection, France (by descent from the above until 2003)

Christie's, New York, 4 November 2003, lot 12

Barbara and Martin Zweig, United States of America

Acquired at the above sale by the present owner
