Pierre HODE (1889-1942) "Le port de Rouen" Remarkable painting by Pierre HODE, made with a thick paste, representing boats in the port of Rouen. A major figure of the School of Rouen, especially for his Cubist works, Pierre HODE is said to have made 500 to 600 paintings according to Claude PILLEMENT, author of the only book on the painter. He is said to have listed 250 of them, of which only 19 "ports de Rouen", a theme highly sought after by collectors of this pictorial "school". This work is not one of the paintings listed in this reference book (published in 1985) , so it is in addition to the referenced paintings of Pierre HODE. A great opportunity to seize! Pierre HODE's paintings can be traded for between 50,000 and 100,000 euros for his best Cubist compositions, a "port of Rouen" sold for $48,000 in 2013.
