Pierre Miciol (1833-1905)

He studied engraving at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lyon and then at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, where he won first prize.

He left for Rome to perfect his glass painting technique at the same time as he specialized in making stained glass.
He won the second Prix de Rome there in 1858. After a stay at the Villa Medici, he settled in Lyon in 1866 where he founded a glass painting workshop.

He was a member of the jury of the Lyon Exhibition in 1894, sculpture and engraving section.

Pierre Miciol died on October 10, 1905 in his hometown.
