Pierre Paulin (Paris, 9 July 1927 - Montpellier, 13 June 2009) was a French industrial designer. In the Netherlands, he is known as the designer of some famous Artifort furniture.

. Paulin studied sculpture. Starting from the mid 1950s he designed chairs for Thonet and Artifort, among others (1958–1970) . The motto for all his designs for seating furniture was: "An armchair should protect the person sitting in it. " This design principle is reflected in the Ribbon Chair, among others, for which he was awarded the American Industrial Design Award in 1969.

. During his working life, Paulin was involved in a wide variety of design projects. He designed the French pavilion for the Expo 70 world exhibition in Osaka, for example, he was asked to restyle the private rooms of the presidential palace in Paris in 1971, and he was also responsible for the interior of the passenger sections in the aircraft of Air France in that same decade.
