Ribbon, F582, 1966Pierre Paulin. Futuristic seating sculpture for Artifort. A design which is upholstered entirely, with a professional and innovative vision on the well-known ribbon shape. Simple as well as ingenious. Besides that, it is also functional and it has a very high seating comfort. The base is a metal tubular frame with horizontal springs, coated with moulded foam and upholstered with uncreased elastic wool fabric (Kvadrat Tonus 4) . The frame is made of wood pressed at a high frequency, for the necessary robustness. It is varnished with high-gloss varnished in the colour Alpine white. Part of the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne (Australia) . The piece which is shown in these photos is a piece from the first production series (late 1960s) and it has been restored entirely. In absolutely new condition! No one has sat in it. No signs of wear. Transport & shipping. There are 3 options: 1. Pick-up the lot in Weert (the Netherlands) ; 2. Transport by courier at the buyer's initiative; 3. Transport arranged by the seller, for a fee of €0. 50/km, based on a return trip from Weert.
