Pierre d’Avesn - Artichoke vase in fume frosted glass

Art Deco vase by the famous French designer, Pierre D'Avesn, (1901-1984) . At the age of 14 he was already working for René Lalique where he admired the techniques of this great master in glass art. In 1926 he left Lalique and established himself as a self-employed person. In the 4 years that followed, he designed 30 objects, outsourcing the production to the Cristallerie de Saint-Remy. From this period is this vase which is marked with: P Davesn - France. (photo 6) He can be seen as one of the best glass designers in the Art Deco period together with Etling, Verlys, Sabino and Lalique. It has the model name : ‘Artichoke’ and is made of fumi, frosted glass. Condition: In very good condition. No chips or cracks.
