Sculpture signed at the bottom by Pietro Melandri, entitled “Testa di ragazza” and made from the drawing of Domenico Matteucci from the 1950s. The greatest protagonists of 20th-century ceramics worked with Melandri over the years, including Francesco Di Cocco, Ercole Drei, Carlo Corvi, Giovanni Guerrini, Bruno Innocenti, Carlo Lorenzetti, Domenico Matteucci, Enrico Mazzolani, Giuseppe Mazzullo, Giuseppe Tampieri. After the war Melandri started a rich and original production. While referring to the Faenza ceramic tradition, it was full of a strong and meaningful modernity which made him one of the great master ceramists of the century in his own right.
